Configure Hotkeys

Hotkeys, or keyboard shortcuts are an excellent way to reduce time on operations. From tools to trading, hotkeys save critical seconds when trading.

• Title Bar: Global Settings > Customize Keyboard Shortcuts
• Select the desired shortcut (Example: Trading Keyboard Shortcuts > Buy Market)
• Choose the key and press Assign
• OK

Next, we must enable hotkeys for charts and DOMs. By default, it’s disabled to prevent accidental shortcuts.

Enable hotkeys DOM:

• Click the Menu button of the Trade Order Window (for the DOM)
• Check by selecting “Trading Keyboard Shortcuts Enabled”

Enable hotkeys for chart:

• Select the desired chart to enable hotkeys on
• Title Bar: Trade > Trading Keyboard Shortcuts Enabled is checked

Common Hotkeys for Intraday Trading

Create a Custom Hotkey

Custom hotkeys for trading, studies, and text drawing can be created. This example is for trading, but applies to others:

• Title Bar: Global Settings > Customize Keyboard Shortcuts
• expand Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcuts
• click Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcut 1
• Customize Trading Command
• Trade Type: Buy
• Order Type: Trailing Stop Market
• Reference Price: Ask
• Offest From Reference Price: 3
• OK
• Now choose any Keys to trigger the shortcut. Example: Ctrl + B.
• Press Assign
• OK

The shortcut is setup. By default keyboard shortcuts are NOT enabled on charts, steps to enable are above within this guide.

Transfer Keyboard Shortcuts to Another Copy or User

It is possible to easily copy files from the source copy to another user or copy of Sierra Chart. There are no personal account details in this file: KeyboardShortcuts4.config. Located:

• C:\SierraChart\
• KeyboardShortcuts4.config
