CME Requirement: Live Futures Account
CME has imposed a requirement around Live data, requiring users to have a Live Futures account. For some users who plan to trade a live account using Sierra Chart this is not an issue, however some users who want to use online prop firms such as LucidTrading or practice in SIM with live data still require a Live Account. Once a month you must connect to the live account to prove an live account held. For those wanting to trade an online prop firm or SIM with live data, you MUST fund a futures trading account with at least $100 USD. Some firms such as Stage5 and EdgeClear offer accounts that can be funded with that minimum balance. Simply create an account with the broker, fund it, and connect to Sierra Chart.
To read about this requirement in more detail, visit: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/EasySolutionToCMEFundedTradingAccountRequirement.php
It is also possible to use an IBKR account to meet this live account requirement.
Having a live account with a different platform such as NinjaTrader does not count. You must be able to connect to Sierra Chart
